Household flooding grants and reporting

Applications are confidential and applying for a grant will not affect your house insurance.

Eligibility and amounts:

• Flooded households in Somerset Council area can apply for up to £500 cash to help with immediate costs

• Households and businesses significantly affected, may be eligible for 100% council tax and business rates relief for at least three months

• Eligible flood-hit property owners, who can apply for up to £5,000 to help make their homes and businesses more resilient to future flooding.

We also encourage you to report your flooding and submit photographs and videos using this website as it will allow the development of an AI model based on local knowledge to provide an early warning system for those potentially affected. These will automatically be passed onto the management authorities and helps in planning for future flood mitigation measures. Any information submitted to this website will be held under GDPR rules. I.e. no personal information will be passed on to other bodies.
